City of Sanctuary

Glasgow

Glasgow 16 Dec 2011Glasgow City of Sanctuary is an initiative aiming to ensure that Glasgow continues to be place of welcome and safety for people in need of sanctuary.

Our local services – from the community-based Integration Networks to the Scottish Refugee Council – have suffered severe funding cuts, but we are determined that Glasgow will continue to be a place of safety, a city of sanctuary.

You can be a part of this movement. If you would like to get involved, or if you would like more information, please get in touch. You can email us at glasgow@cityofsanctuary.org

Our next gathering is an informal ceilidh on Friday 16 December. A ceilidh in the old sense of the word: a get together for conversation with some music, rather than a formal dance.

One of the main issues to be discussed will be how we can work together to help the new landlord in Glasgow to ensure housing for people seeking asylum meets the Scottish Standards for Temporary Accommodation.

*Please join us on Friday 16 December, from 12noon – 4pm, *
